This year Sheona McDonald worked with all of our classes in the school garden. The infant classes grew lots of sunflowers in their classroom. 1st and 2nd Classes planted flowers, sunflowers, borage, gladioli, nasturtiums, marigolds, sweet peas and many more . Some were edible for ourselves and others provided food for bees and birds. 3rd and 4th Class sowed peas, sunflowers, cabbage and lettuce. 5th and 6th planted radishes, mixed salad leaves, carrots, parsnips and onions .Sheona did enormous work with the whole school and we are so grateful for her enthusiasm and knowledge!

Planting the Garden (2) on PhotoPeach
There are spacious grounds around the school which include our school vegetable garden. Pupils grow a wide variety of vegetables here. The experience of planting, tending to and harvesting the vegetables cannot be underestimated. It is a priceless experience for the children, who are so chuffed with their end produce! Check out some of the crops that have been harvested under the careful guidance of Ms. Forde!
