Welcome to Mrs. Walsh's Class page!
About Us!
We are third and fourth class.
There are seventeen children in our class, eleven boys and six girls. Our teacher's name is Mrs. Walsh.
For Science Week (Stem showcase) we all chose an animal native to Ireland and did a project on it. We researched its habitat, diet, size , fun facts, etc….. Then we presented our projects to all the other classes in the school. They were very interested in our work. We also presented our work to our parents. They were impressed!! It was fun!
Science week
As part of Science Week Ireland we took part in some fantastic experiments and completed various STEM challenges.
In the first challenge the children had to make the tallest tower possible from 90cm tin foil and nothing else. The tower had to be free standing and could not be supported or propped up against anything.
Our second challenge involved building the strongest devices possible out of straws to hold as much weight as possible. We had one plastic cup, 10 straws, paper clips and elastic bands at our disposal this time. The device had to be free standing and moveable.
